Zhejiang Associationg for Science and Technology (ZAST) is a provincial level organization founded in 1958. It is a non-profit, non-government but government-funded membership based organization whose responsibility includes promoting academic exchange and technology transfer,bringing knowledge to the pubilc internatioal academic exchange activies，providing consultancy for making informed decision，for the rights of intellectuals and serving interests of members. It has 146 professional chapters of natural sciences, 160,000 members with middle level or higher professional qualifications and closely connects to universities,research establishments hospitals, govemengt agencies,etc.
